March gourmet at our house!

Since we were going to be hosting gourmet when I was 37 weeks, we decided to go with a pretty easy, laid back theme. So, we picked one of Ben's all time favorite movies (Nacho Libre) and derived a menu from it, plus decided to watch the movie during dinner since a few of our members hadn't seen it.

Corn and Sun dried tomatoes for the salad...

I know, I know, most of you are probably thinking, why in the world would we serve corn on the cob this time of the year. Well, it just so happens that corn on the cob is featured the most out of all the food in the movie, so we had to serve it (by the way, don't buy corn on the cob in march-yuck!).

Making tortillas...

Ben's masterpiece salad...

Tasty beer...

The first ever dinner theater for gourmet group!

Ok, here is a very sad story. I planned churros for dessert. I made the dough before everyone came and then refrigerated it like the recipe said to. Well, I didn't think about the fact that I am 37 weeks pregnant and a little bit silly and forgetful. Well, I put way too many eggs in the dough, so the churros were a disaster and not even eatable. So, the next evening Ben and I set out to make them again just to see what they would be like and to really see what mistakes I had made. They were amazing and so good! I'm way bummed that we weren't able to share these tasty treats with our group. So, if anyone from gourmet group is reading this now, here are is what the churros should have looked like:

March 1st, Chloe Hope Christian is born!

Well, it's a great story, but I'll just give the basic idea: Chloe was born at Exit 238 on I-70 on her way to Denver on March 1st! These pictures are at Oma and Poppa's house less then 24 hours after Chloe was born!

Yep, That's Sarah less than 24 hours after giving birth to her daughter in her car. She's amazing!

No, I didn't make her cry, she's giving a great yawn!

Vanessa really liked Chloe at first and had a great time pointing out her fingers...

...and her nose...

...and her toes...

...but then she just wanted to play with the big girls!

The last February blog!

February 23rd was one of those wonderful almost 70 degrees days, so we met up with all the Schuchards for lunch and then play time at the CSU oval...

Blowing bubbles for the girls was very fun!

Vanessa was wondering around eating an apple, when all of a sudden she threw it on the ground and wouldn't touch it, but also wouldn't take her eyes off it. Turns out there was a bee on it!

See there it is!

Ben and his dad tossed the frisbee around for a while...

I attempted to toss it around!

Well folks, there it is, 34 week belly...

Mom and Vanessa...

Getting a shoulder ride from dad...

Ahhhh...this picture melts my heart!

Hey, what's up in that tree?

That sure is way up there!

I just love my family so much!!!!!!!!

I must say, I took this picture and I am quite proud of it, I even have it as my back drop on the computer right now!

Well, now that the bee is gone I guess I'll get back to eating!

Well, here is Sarah 1 day over due and running after a frisbee to try to start labor...

More February...

Gosh, I didn't realize how much we did in February, it just seems to keep going and going and going...

One day I noticed that Vanessa didn't have even one pair of shoes that fit her, so I went on a Vanessa-shoe-shopping-spree...When I brought them out for her to see she insisted on running around in each pair...

Pair number 1...

Pair number 2...

Pair number 3...

Pair number 4...by the way, don't you just love her outfit!?

Hmmmmm...so is this where she learned how to jump on the bed?

Having fun with cousins at Oma and Poppas house...

Brent and Abbey...

Poppa giving his famous leg rides...

No wonder he's always so tired when the girls go to sleep!

The birthday boy and his little angel...

Family of 4, very soon to be family of 5...

Yea! A new wok!

Looks like they all like the new wok!

Catching up on some overseas news...

Fun birthday present!

Sarah's beautiful creation for Brent's birthday cheese cake!

Yummy!

Happy birthday Brent!

It's always fun to see where she might end up falling asleep...

Oh dear, maybe we shouldn't let dad give baths anymore!

She looks a little bit concerned...
