Since we were going to be hosting gourmet when I was 37 weeks, we decided to go with a pretty easy, laid back theme. So, we picked one of Ben's all time favorite movies (Nacho Libre) and derived a menu from it, plus decided to watch the movie during dinner since a few of our members hadn't seen it.

Corn and Sun dried tomatoes for the salad...

I know, I know, most of you are probably thinking, why in the world would we serve corn on the cob this time of the year. Well, it just so happens that corn on the cob is featured the most out of all the food in the movie, so we had to serve it (by the way, don't buy corn on the cob in march-yuck!).

The first ever dinner theater for gourmet group!
Ok, here is a very sad story. I planned churros for dessert. I made the dough before everyone came and then refrigerated it like the recipe said to. Well, I didn't think about the fact that I am 37 weeks pregnant and a little bit silly and forgetful. Well, I put way too many eggs in the dough, so the churros were a disaster and not even eatable. So, the next evening Ben and I set out to make them again just to see what they would be like and to really see what mistakes I had made. They were amazing and so good! I'm way bummed that we weren't able to share these tasty treats with our group. So, if anyone from gourmet group is reading this now, here are is what the churros should have looked like:
