Cousin Max's birthday party and other Vanessa pictures!

Let's see, so this blog starts out with pictures from cousin Max's 1 year birthday party on August 8th. Max is such an amazing blessing to our family and we are just so thrilled to be apart of his life!

A special weekend for us...

So, the first weekend in August we were scheduled to go on a four day backpacking trip with Ben's sister and her husband. Well, I had a 'pregnancy breakdown' the night before we were supposed to leave. So, Ben called up Brent and Sarah to let them know that we wouldn't be able to meet them. We already had childcare planned for Vanessa for 5 days, so we went ahead and let her Grandparents take her while we had a much needed break. Our 5 days consisted of sleeping, taking walks, eating out and doing some fun cooking together, and then one afternoon we decided to drive up to Rocky Mountain National Park to go on a short hike. We also took up our camping stove to make our dinner by the lake! So, the pictures that follow are of our afternoon in the park...

The hike was nice and short, but pretty. When we arrived at the lake we went to the end where people were not and put our feet in the water and just plain old relaxed!

Ben decided that he wanted to hike up to some waterfalls, I opted to stay back and catch some zzz's!

When he got back from the waterfalls we started our dinner...

Then Ben decided that some zzz's sounded good!

And of course, then he decided to hike up to the waterfalls again, he took a picture of me standing be the lake, can you see me?

A very nice couple took our picture as we were coming down, we really like this picture because usually when we take a picture together one of us doesn't look too good, but we think that we both look alright in this one! Yea!

What have we been up to since the end of July?

Hello everyone! Sorry about my massive behindness on the blog, I had a sort of rough first trimester, but I turned 12 weeks today and I've been feeling awesome! So, I have a rather long list of things to do to get our lives back on track and one of the things to do is blog! So, this will be the first of many 'catch up' blogs, plus Ben just taught me a way faster way to do all the photos so I'm hoping that will make me want to blog even more since I'll be able to do it in half the time! Alright, so here we go...

We planted a flower and herb garden this spring, this picture was taken in August and it's now the end of September and I'm looking at this picture and thinking how small everything looks!

Uncles Jesse and Jacob are always trying to find new things to impress Vanessa with!

We enjoyed a hot August day at the lake with Ben's family, here is Ben with Vanessa and our two nieces Maddie and Abbey...
