The day after Vanessa's birthday party we headed off to south western Colorado for a mountain adventure! We four wheeled, hiked our 5th 14eer, camped, fished and relaxed first with Ben's family in Silverton and then my family at my Grandparents cabin at a trout fishing club called Pearl Lakes near Lake City. Here's the run down on our fun filled week:

Our first family tent camping experience, it wasn't too bad, Vanessa slept great.

Our first four wheel pass, Cinnamon pass Elevation 12, 640...the Xterra did awesome!!!
Yea! Vanessa's first hike was Handies Peak, Elevation 14,053, she did great! What a mountain princess!
It was a perfect day, great weather and a beautiful hike!
Ben is such a stud, he packed Vanessa all the way up and down, that's an extra 20 pounds or so!

Well, this was actually the 2nd time she's been around for fireworks, but we count this time as her first...she loved them!

After going over Engineer pass we arrived at my Grandparents cabin, a few days later Ben went on a hike with my uncle David...

One day Ben, myself, Meagan and Garrett all went on a sweet four wheel trail to a ghost town called Carson, it was a wild ride...here we are on top of the continental divide...
